From the Wikipedia entry for Philip Rahv, the late Jewish Marxist and founder of Partisan Review:
He is also known for his later hostility toward Myth Criticism in the style of Northrop Frye. As he put it, “What the craze for myth represents most of all is the fear of history.”
Is that some good ‘ole Jewish Holocaust Guilt™ there?
Frye’s literary theory emanated from Jung.
It would not be entirely surprising, I suppose, to see a Jewish intellectual hostile to anything smacking of Jung’s quintessentially Aryan aesthetic: racial connections to one’s European ancestors and, among other things, one’s racial/ancestral homeland.
Jews prefer Freud, for all the reasons that Freud criticized Jung.
