The University of Oklahoma has expelled students from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity for their speech. In particular, for this chant they did on a bus:
There will never be a nigger at SAE
There will never be a nigger at SAE
You can hang him from a tree
But he’ll never sign with me
There will never be a nigger at SAE
As HBD-related findings, and the long history of ethnocentrism, become increasingly irrefutable, to me one of the most terrifying cultural developments of the past 10 years is the (ironic) degree to which political correctness is solidifying its stranglehold, not being weakened in the wake of such evidence, leading to it’s ‘progressive’ appointment as Cultural Inquisitor… despite all rational expectations… being increasingly entrenched.
In WaPo, Eugene Volokh, professor of law at UCLA pens a piece entitled “No, it’s not constitutional for the University of Oklahoma to expel students for racist speech“:
University of Oklahoma president David Boren said, “If I’m allowed to, these students will face suspension or expulsion.” [UPDATE: The president has indeed expelled two of the students.]…
The university president wrote that the students are being expelled for “your leadership role in leading a racist and exclusionary chant which has created a hostile educational environment for others.” But there is no First Amendment exception for racist speech, or exclusionary speech, or — as the cases I mentioned above — for speech by university students that “has created a hostile educational environment for others.”
… Likewise, speech doesn’t lose its constitutional protection just because it refers to violence — “You can hang him from a tree,” “the capitalists will be the first ones up against the wall when the revolution comes,” “by any means necessary” with pictures of guns, “apostates from Islam should be killed.”
Again, the criteria for expulsion and trumping First Amendment principles, at an institution of higher learning no less, being the indirect cause of a “hostile educational environment for others”.
New buzzwords within the PC left have been created (e.g., “triggers”) that mainstream America isn’t even aware of yet.
They will become aware of such intolerati, however, when such principles leap from the bubbles of academia to the workplace.
