There is now a brisk market in fake Syrian passports; German authorities have confiscated hundreds of blank passports. A Dutch journalist in Syria paid $850 for a very convincing-looking custom-made fake, and they are now offered on the Internet. Syrians have been getting into fights with imposters who, they think, make it harder for real Syrians to register as refugees.
