It seems that Kate Steinle’s family isn’t taking their proper cues from the MSM — e.g., NYT: “Slain Woman’s Parents Focused on Healing, Not Sanctuary Law” — but is apparently having a change of heart (or maybe this was their heart all along? We’ll never know) on the issue of sanctuary cities. From Fox News:
The father of the young woman killed earlier this month along a San Francisco pier on Tuesday blasted the “legal loopholes” that allowed the illegal immigrant suspected of pulling the trigger to be released despite a rap sheet that included seven felonies and five past deportations.
In dramatic Capitol Hill testimony, Jim Steinle and other relatives of people killed by illegal immigrants called on Congress to pass new laws aimed at keeping illegal immigrant criminals off the streets.
“It’s unbelievable to see so many innocent Americans that have been killed by undocumented immigrant felons in recent years,” Steinle said.
Kate Steinle’s brother Brad was on the Megyn Kelly show Wed night, reiterating the same and supporting Kate’s Law.
Kelly asked Brad if The Organizer has called the family yet, given how Kate’s death is a national story.
“No,” he replied.
Kelly then made the telling observation that when Sandra Fluke was called a “slut” by Rush Limbaugh, The Organizer made it a point to call her “to see if she was okay” and even talked about it in detail at a press conference (video below).
Now here’s a real conundrum: If Kate Steinle had been black and had been similarly killed by a Mexican illegal immigrant, would The Organizer have called to console her family?
