The Atlantic has some great photos of Krampus costumes and celebrations throughout Europe’s Alpine region, where the pre-Germanic Pagan tradition of Krampus visiting naughty children during Yule is still recognized. (Saint Nicholas, on the other hand, gives gifts to well-behaved girls and boys.)
