NYT: Salivating at Red States Turning Blue

Writing in the NYT, Will Wilkinson argues that the economic consequences of Trump’s tax law will work towards making Red states Blue (“The Republican Tax Bill Could Turn Texas Blue”).

His basic argument: Re-locators tend to be Millennials, and Millennials tend to be Democrats, hence new, younger workers are moving to booming Red states (which are booming due to their relatively low-taxes, low levels of government spending, and low housing costs) and will, in time, turn those states Blue.

And, one could add, eventually turn those formerly great Red States into the very type of Blue state sh*tholes they escaped from.

The tax act’s ceiling on [state-level mortgage] deductions is likely to make many blue-state metro areas even more expensive — at least in the short run.

With the Republican changes to the tax code, the high-cost dynamic that has effectively redistributed some probable Democratic voters from left-leaning to right-leaning states will be thrown into overdrive.

Furthermore, the lowered corporate tax rate is also more likely to spur capital investment, business expansion and job growth in places that are both economically thriving and comparatively cheap — many of them urban areas in red states — which should bring a relative abundance of attractive new opportunities and cost-conscious job seekers.

Not until way down in the piece does Wilkinson get to the ‘no sh8t Sherlock’ factor that is arguably the primary driver:

Residents in the states with the highest net in-migration rates bear a relatively low tax burden. Economists have only begun to study the effects of tax rates on particular subgroups of movers, but recent results are suggestive. In a 2017 paper published in the American Economic Review, the economists Enrico Moretti of the University of California, Berkeley, and Daniel J. Wilson of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco looked at addresses on patent filings to track the movements of top scientists and found that “state taxes have significant effect on the geographical location of star scientists and possibly other highly skilled workers.”

Oddly, Wilkinson feels compelled to throw in some alarmist ‘white supremacy!’ barbs:

This wouldn’t constitute an urgent problem for Republicans if Mr. Trump’s divisive ethno-nationalist identity politics wasn’t already intensifying nonwhite voters’ disdain for the party. Exit polls in November’s Virginia governor’s race vividly illustrate the party’s perilous electoral position. Ed Gillespie, an establishment Republican, won 57 percent of the white vote with a race-baiting Trumpist campaign, but an abysmal 19 percent of the nonwhite vote.

Texas is already a majority-minority state, and its voting-age population will follow suit next year. Arizona is set to flip to majority-minority status in 2023, and Georgia and Florida are set to follow in 2025 and 2028. A more inclusive Republican Party could hold these states indefinitely, but the Trump party’s pivot to white identity populism has used up its slack.

Yes, those brown voters would certainly be joining the GOP in droves, if whites were simply willing to close their eyes and enjoy it.

TAC: “An Armenian Rhapsody”

Writing in Cuck Quarterly….er, I mean The American Conservative… Bill Kauffman wonders why Hollywood doesn’t produce any films about the Armenian genocide (“An Armenian Rhapsody”)

“Why do their films, including those about the genocide,” Kauffman asks “always get the shaft from Hollywood?”

Search for the word “Jew” in the piece and you’ll get zero hits.

TAC is a leading, mainstream, ‘conservative’ website.

Law & Order: KKK

The ‘ripped from the headlines’ Law & Order shows have always been an outlet for liberal fantasies, but this summary of a new Law & Order: SVU episode demonstrates just how unhinged the Left has become.

This episode has it all: an Ann Coulter-like pundit provocateur is at an event, where Antifa and MAGA conservatives clash. The Coulter-clone gets raped after the event, with physical evidence pointing solidly to an Antifa member.

At one point in the episode after the rape, the fuzz interviews an Alt-Right guy who was at the event, providing informal security for the Coulter clone. He is the founder and self-proclaimed ‘Grand Wizard’ of a group called Patriots for the American Way who actually says at one point “… when we make America great again”. See what the NBC [1]((writers)) did there?

Later at the prosecution trial against the Antifa guy, the D.A., disgusted with the smug testimony of (presumably) this same Alt-Right guy (he cites the dastardly 14 words!), asks the Judge to dismiss the case against the Antifa guy.

The gloves are off, folks.

The Left’s Fantasies: a still from the episode.

The Looming Imperial City

In a post where he notes a state-level correlation between average IQ & average credit rating, AE writes:

The more intelligent the population, the more smoothly things run.

Keep this in mind as leftists continue to clamor for the unfettered flow of settlers into the US from double-digit IQ countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

An indebted, overdrafted, underfunded population is one that will give up power to the Imperial City in return for being bailed out and provided for.

Carter G. Woodson (1875-1950)

Sure, there were figures like Thucydides, Arnold Toynbee, and A.J.P Taylor, but today’s Google doodle is of a true historian giant, Carter G. Woodson (1875-1950).

Sure, I’ve never heard of him, but I ought to have, and would have were it not for the suffocating strictures of white supremacy:

Carter Godwin Woodson was an African-American historian, author, journalist and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. He was one of the first scholars to study African-American history. A founder of The Journal of Negro History in 1915, Woodson has been cited as the “father of black history”. In February 1926 he launched the celebration of “Negro History Week”, the precursor of Black History Month.

Woodson was less interested in History, per se, than in Black History.

Woodson was ostracized by some of his contemporaries because of his insistence on defining a category of history related to ethnic culture and race. At the time, these educators felt that it was wrong to teach or understand African-American history as separate from more general American history. According to these educators, “Negroes” were simply Americans, darker skinned, but with no history apart from that of any other. Thus Woodson’s efforts to get Black culture and history into the curricula of institutions, even historically Black colleges, were often unsuccessful. Today African-American studies have become specialized fields of study in history, music, culture, literature and other areas; in addition, there is more emphasis on African-American contributions to general American culture. The United States government celebrates Black History Month.

Who were the contemporaries who ‘ostracized’ him for his racial historical lens? Were any such individuals themselves black? Might it have been akin to the W.E.B. Du Bois vs. Booker T. Washington bifurcation, where very different perspectives on what it means to be black were taken, Du Bois’ perspective having won out culturally, leading to much of our country’s current racial woes?

Here’s an instructive quote from Woodson:

“If you can control a man’s thinking, you don’t have to worry about his actions. If you can determine what a man thinks you do not have to worry about what he will do. If you can make a man believe that he is inferior, you don’t have to compel him to seek an inferior status, he will do so without being told and if you can make a man believe that he is justly an outcast, you don’t have to order him to the back door, he will go to the back door on his own and if there is no back door, the very nature of the man will demand that you build one.”

And this one:

“Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history.”

Both of the above quotes are salient today… for whites.

If only they would heed its message.

Will there someday be a Carter G. Woodson-like figure who champions White History?

Jordan Peterson Tears Up

Some on the AR pan this guy, and I’m sure some will poke fun at his emotional display in this video, but I for one welcome his role in the unfolding dialectic. The emotion with which he pursues these topics is obviously resonating with thousands and thousands of young men.

NYT: “The State of the (White Nationalist) Union”

It’s the day after SOTU, so the NYT naturally gives precious SOTU-related op-ed space to Kashana Cauley (“The State of the (White Nationalist) Union”):

This fatalist, white nationalist view of the world is a reminder that if last night was about unity, Mr. Trump cares to unite only white Americans.

The piece is accompanied by a picture of Dems wearing tribal Kente colors, which I find creepy, like a racialist South African, all-black party ready to chant “Kill the Boer!”

As a whole, the Dem side of the aisle increasingly resembles the Star Wars cantina scene.

Politico: “Americans are dreamers too” = White Nationalism

In Politico, here is how Rebecca Morin responds to Trump’s “Americans are dreamers too” line (“Trump’s ‘dreamers’ line in State of the Union draws praise from David Duke”)

President Donald Trump’s sole reference to “dreamers” during his State of the Union address drew praise from David Duke and other white nationalists, who approved of how the speech reclaimed a term that has become a flash point in the immigration debate…

Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan leader, wrote on Twitter: “Thank you President Trump. Americans are ‘Dreamers’ too.” The comment lit up social media, with commentators noting Duke’s comments and similar sentiments from other white nationalists such as Richard Spencer.

Hillary Didn’t Fire An Advisor Accused of Harassment. She Now Says She Would.

In classic Clinton style, The Witch uses her own hypocrisy to pivot and lecture the rest of us:

“I very much understand the question I’m being asked as to why I let an employee on my 2008 campaign keep his job despite his inappropriate workplace behavior,” wrote Clinton on Facebook. “The short answer is this: If I had it to do again, I wouldn’t.”

Clinton went on to address the rapidly changing conversation around sexual harassment.

“Over the past year, a seismic shift has occurred in the way we approach and respond to sexual harassment, both as a society and as individuals,” wrote Clinton. “This shift was long overdue. It occurred thanks to women across industries who stood up and spoke out, from Hollywood to sports to farm workers – to the very woman who worked for me.”
