In a NYT op-ed, professor of sociology Neil Gross asks “Why Is Hollywood So Liberal?” He surprisingly makes a token gesture to the hugely disproportionate role of Jews in the industry (!):
The looming threat of anti-Semitic fascism further politicized screen actors in an industry that had become an ethnic niche for Jews.
As far as why so many actors in Tinseltown are liberal, Gross emphasizes what I’ve long believed: Successful acting requires an inordinate psychological ability or predisposition for empathy:
[I]n a recent paper, the psychologist Adam Waytz and his colleagues report a more nuanced finding: The main thing distinguishing liberals and conservatives in this regard isn’t how empathetic they are overall; rather, the key difference is how much empathy they feel for specific groups. Where conservatives empathize foremost with family members and country, liberals extend the bounds of empathy to include friends, the socially disadvantaged and citizens of the world, to whom they’d like government to lend a hand.
Jonathan Haidt has covered similar terrain in his work on the bifurcated routes personal morality can take, leading some to liberalism and others to conservatism.

It is great to see British pundit Katie Hopkins – a frequent guest on Tucker’s show – doing a multi-part series on the white genocide in South Africa, as Lauren Southern has recently done.
The MSM is targeting American tennis star Tennys Sandgren because he (gasp!) doesn’t dismiss Alt Right tweets & theses outright. From Business Insider:
In his post-match press conference, Sandgren read a prepared statement from his phone.
“You seek to put people in these little boxes so that you can order the world in your already assumed preconceived ideas,” Sandgren said. “You strip away any individuality for the sake of demonizing by way of the collective.
“With a handful of follows and some likes on Twitter, my fate has been sealed in your minds. To write an edgy story, to create sensationalist coverage, there are a few lengths you wouldn’t go to to mark me as the man you desperately want me to be.”
Sandgren was asked about his Twitter activity on Monday and said he found some of the content “interesting,” but did not necessarily support the views of the alt-right.
“I find some of the content interesting, but no I don’t [support the alt-right],” he said. “Not at all. No, as a firm Christian, I don’t support things like that, no. I support Christ and following him and that’s what I support.”
Between #MeToo hysteria and “He’s a Nazi!” hysteria, the MSM is easily twice as stressed out as 17th century Salem judges & 20th century Soviet-era Commissars.

It’s a pro-forma casting call because, in the end, the new “West Side Story” is going to need stars. Big names. And because of the setting and the time we are in, it’s going to need actual Puerto Ricans or Latinos for the parts of characters like Maria, Anita, and Bernardo. There will be no fudging this in 2018. The casting call says in capital letters: MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK SPANISH.
Nice.
And apparently Tony Kushner is writing the adapted screenplay, so this production will be replete with glorification of homosexuality & other P.C. tropes.

I had a strange dream last night: I received a job offer from Donald Trump, for some kind of suit & tie job at Trump Tower. The job offer was on paper and had lots of pen-ink revisions on it, and I was anxiously reading it over, confused by its contents and verbiage, while Trump patiently awaited my answer. (The dream did not get to an actual salary figure.)
I accepted the job offer, upon which Trump treated me, my girlfriend, and a couple of other people to a celebratory steak dinner somewhere in NYC. It was an average tasting steak, nothing special. When we were done eating, I went to use the bathroom. I passed a busboy who had cleared our table. He said to me: “I hope you liked that steak, it was $2,000!”

In The Guardian, Angela Saini is freaking out that more scholars are acknowledging that ‘reality group differences based on IQ’ is a thesis worthy of exploration. “‘Scientific’ eugenics is on the rise, and grabbing a foothold in respected journals,” reads the alarmist byline, “The claim that these theories are a credible part of a general discussion should worry us all.” Surprisingly, there are no exclamation points after that last sentence.
Researchers with extreme views on race number relatively few but, having languished on the margins of their fields for many years, they are now managing to push their ideas into the mainstream, including into respectable scientific journals.
Over the past year I have been investigating this tight, well-connected cabal of people, who nowadays call themselves “race realists”, reflecting their view that the scientific evidence is on their side…
…[T]he steady creep of extreme views from the fringes of academia to the everyday should worry us all. Academic freedom is an honourable ideal, and one worth defending, because we trust that the system works. Through careful checks and peer review, only the most reliable, well-evidenced ideas, and most trustworthy researchers, should pass through.
And… here… it… comes:
But in practice the system does fail. Poor papers do get published, weak research can pass through the net, and people’s prejudices can sometimes taint the process. This is what those at the disreputable edges of academia are counting on.
The scientific community needs to be more vigilant. The system broke down over eugenics research in the early 20th century, with catastrophic consequences. We have to ensure this never happens again.
Ah, yes, it always comes back to The Holocaust.
These people are not very good at logic.

Another white man loses his job because of his political views. This time it is Tom Kawczynski, who was employed as a Town Manager in Jackman, Maine.
An alt-right town manager in rural Maine who founded an organization advocating racial separation has been fired after his prolific online posts bashing Islam and diversity caught national attention over the weekend.

What are Kawczynski’s outrageous and unacceptable views?
Kawczynski, who recently founded the New Albion group “emphasizing the positive aspects of our European heritage,” per its website, had previously called Islam barbaric and the “scourge of Western civilization.” He remained defiant on his way out, telling a crowd of townspeople and media who’d gathered to watch the meeting that he wasn’t a racist and was fired “without cause.”
“We are open to all ethnicities, all races,” he said. “And I reject categorically the suggestion that I am a racist, a bigot, a Nazi, or any of the other foul names which have been attributed to me or my wife.”
He added this: “But I do love white people and I love white people as white people.”

Of Kawczynski’s views, the Usual Suspects express their shock and dismay:
Kawczynski, 37, told the Bangor Daily News that he wants to preserve this region’s white majority and keep out Muslims, but rejected the idea that his views are racist, saying that people of different racial backgrounds are welcome in his movement as long as their culture is “rooted in Western civilization.”
“Wow,” said Zachary Heiden, legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine, when asked about Kawczynski’s views. “That’s shockingly racist.”
Kawczynski said, “We are pro-white without being anti-other groups in terms of their racial identity. But we … oppose the idea of bringing people in from the outside that come from different cultures…
In a post on the group’s website, Kawczynski wrote that “while I am not an absolutist on race, understanding the many complications created by the American system, I do believe to the extent we voluntarily separate, the happier every group will be as they regain self-determination.” Another post refers to Islam as “barbarism.”
At a press conference after his firing, Kawczynski wisely chose to read an eloquent statement and take no media questions, the best strategy for anyone in similar circumstances.
