One of my favorite musical ‘discoveries’ of the past 10 years is the album Parachute (1970) by the underrated British ’60s band The Pretty Things.
Recorded at Abbey Road, the album’s pristine production harkens to The Beatles at their Abbey Road pinnacle, and the songs are among the strongest of the band’s career. “Cries From The Midnight Circus” is a high point.
Turn the lights down low, spark one up, and enjoy.
