Corden’s Debut

I watched James Corden’s debut on the Late Late Show last night and thought he did a fine job, especially for his first show. I remember how awkward and nervous Conan was during his first show as a late night host. Even Fallon was visibly nervous on his Tonight Show debut. Corden was relatively relaxed during his debut.

Cut to:

Alessandra Stanley is the NYT’s younger version of Maureen Dowd. That being said (ahem), the byline for her review of Corden’s debut reads:

James Corden will surely improve, but there is still no good explanation for why networks will not take a chance on a female or non-Caucasian star, Alessandra Stanley writes.

It must be quite something to view all of social reality in terms of what is, and is not, white and male.
