Godwin’s Law & Trump – Pt. 3,813

It’s a Godwin’s Law explosion out there in the Bubblesphere!

From Reuters:

Mexico’s president has said his country will not pay for White House hopeful Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, and likened his “strident tone” to the ascent of dictators like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

President Enrique Pena Nieto’s comments, published in Monday’s Excelsior newspaper, were among the most critical public comments yet by a foreign leader of the New York billionaire…

Pena Nieto attacked the “populism” of the Trump campaign, which he said sought to put forward “very easy, simple solutions to problems that are obviously not that easy to solve.”

“And there have been episodes in human history, unfortunately, where these expressions of this strident rhetoric have only led to very ominous situations in the history of humanity,” the Mexican president added.

“That’s how Mussolini got in, that’s how Hitler got in, they took advantage of a situation, a problem perhaps, which humanity was going through at the time, after an economic crisis.

Meanwhile, also from Reuters is a piece on “Foreign diplomats voicing alarm to U.S. officials about Trump“.

Foreign diplomats are expressing alarm to U.S. government officials about what they say are inflammatory and insulting public statements by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, according to senior U.S. officials.

Officials from Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia have complained in recent private conversations, mostly about the xenophobic nature of Trump’s statements, said three U.S. officials, who all declined to be identified.

Regarding the aforementioned ‘Hitler Salute’ allegation, the crusty old hyper-ethnocentric activist Abe Foxman, the MSM’s regular go-to-guy when the $PLC Tribe members aren’t readily available, weighs in (“Ex-ADL director: Trump pledge ‘is a fascist gesture’“):

The former director of the Anti-Defamation League said that Donald Trump having his supporters raise their right hands and pledge to support him “is about as offensive, obnoxious and disgusting as anything I thought I would ever witness in the United States of America.”

Abe Foxman told the Times of Israel that the image created when a whole crowd raises their right hands resembles the “Heil Hitler” sign and Trump knew what he was doing.

“As a Jew who survived the Holocaust, to see an audience of thousands of people raising their hands in what looks like the ‘Heil Hitler’ salute is about as offensive, obnoxious and disgusting as anything I thought I would ever witness in the United States of America,” Foxman said. “It is a fascist gesture.”

It’s always about Hitler.

It’s always about The Holocaust™.

If it wasn’t Trump running, similar charges would be levied, in one form or another, against whomever the GOP nominee-apparent was.

Remember how W was frequently equated to Hitler (aka ‘Bushitlerburton’)?
