Former Bernie Sanders spokesperson, angry black woman, and (by extension, of course) current CNN contributor Symone Sanders has this to say about the idea of Howard Dean, or any other white person heading the DNC:
“In my opinion, we don’t need white people leading the Democratic party right now. The Democratic party is diverse, and it should be reflected as so in our leadership and throughout the staff, at the highest levels.”
Please, please, please Dems… make Keith Ellison the head of the DNC.
It would be a much overdue acknowledgement of the required diversity in your party’s leadership.
Beyond being far left, Ellison is both black and a Muslim.
But can’t we get a black female Muslim into a leadership position? (I was going to say ‘can’t we get a black, gay, Muslim’ into leadership, but that would lead to the stoning of such a hypothetical individual.)
