This movement, which is clearly far from spontaneous, has produced an impressive website, thedemands.org, listing the institutions faced with demands, many of which could not conceivably be met. The fact that this is occurring on college campuses, and not in the general population, is a sign that weaponized shaming is involved. Liberals on campus who are appalled by the protesters’ combative attitude shouldn’t be, for the students are merely carrying out the implications of what their institutions have been teaching them about the nature of American society.
